  • Notes 
    • Augustus became very sick about 1910 and his sons had to work to support the family.
    • Augustus had 10 children, 5 of whom died when they were young. The 8-year gap between Augustino (b. 1894) and Victor (b. 1902) suggests that several children died young in this period.
    • Augustus went to work at an early age as a labourer at Enmore sugar estate. He planted sugar cane and was part of the cane cutting and loading group at harvest time.
    • Twin of Amelia. He had 2 other sisters and a brother.
